No Class!

Snow day...? No.... bacterial meningitis. Thats a new one... we didn't have class on Monday because someone in our program contracted bacterial meningitis over the weekend. They canceled class so they could do a complete and thorough cleaning of the two buildings that our classes are in. Crazy. I felt a little bad about being excited for classes being canceled... oops. Its ok now, we got an email today saying that the girl woke up from her coma and has been showing signs of improvement today.

Yesterday I also received an email from my lovely father with a link to a video. He said that it was a touching video and made him get a little misty eyed... really? I had to watch it. It was a clip from an Oprah episode and wow.. I had to share it with you all... Guess everything that has happened to me since I've been abroad isn't that bad after all... Things could be a lot worse. I could have bacterial meningitis or be dying like the guy in the video. So I thank God for keeping me safe, healthy and giving me this opportunity to study in Barcelona. I feel bad about how much I've been complaining about everything that has happened, and these two things really put things into perspective. And I apologize to my parents who have had to listen to me complain the most about everything - Sorry! Wow, those endorphins really must be moving right now... (I just got back from the gym) So thats all I wanted to say, just short, sweet and get how I was feeling off my chest... heres the link to the video. Watch it. Your problems will seem so minuscule and you'll remember to look on the bright side of things.

WOW! Great video you found Derald! Thanks for sharing it with us Ash. My mom died of the same cancer. What an awesome last lecture. Good reminder.
